Another cycle into Vilanova i la Geltru this morning to get the train to Tarragona where we managed to cope with the ticket purchase and actually even get on the right train - no small feat!
We had decided to head to Tarragona today as it was market day and that was much more appealing to Megan (who is adamantly on half-term holiday and so will not talk about Romans) than the fact that the Roman ruins are a World Heritage Site. We therefore started the day in the market which was actually a clothes market and so the only stall of any interest was the one selling very fake football kits!
Having extracted Megan from that we then went on to explore the World Heritage Site... the roman walls, the remains of the Forum, the ampitheatre and especially the underground vaults were all actually quite impressive - even to the reluctant M and we all left having enjoyed our day in Tarragona.
Again we managed to find the right train and arrived back in Vilanova i la Geltru to the bikes and that mammoth cycle back up the hill to the campsite. Once again, I was impressed with the little people and we all made it back - them much less out of breath than me - before they once again threw themselves into the swimming pool to cool down!
BBQ surrounded by citronella for dinner and hopefully we managed to evade the pesky mossies tonight.
