Another day of classes and not much else. Oh, except rain. Which it hasn't stopped doing since we got here.
Got a phone today, Jess, this is for you. I decided to go with a new company called Yoigo, it uses the same towers here in Spain as one of the leading companys, Movistar, but its international plan is a lot cheaper. Abroad it piggybacks other networks, like TMobile. I had to get a 'tribanda' phone which means it can get signal abroad, so it was a little more expensive.
I couldn't have a better host family, on top of everything else, my host mom has been helping me out with this. She told me it was a good idea to wait til February to get it, since the prices usually go down since its a bad month for phone companies. So I did, and it worked out great. Most of the tribanda phones are 80 , 90 , 150 euro but one went on sale from 139 Euro to 29 euro for February so I really lucked out. I can use it abroad for about 30 cents/ minute to call spain, or around whatever country I'm in. Plus it plays MP3s and is 'muy guay' so my little sister is already hassling me for it when I leave.
That's been the excitement so far. I talked to Frank today about going to Huelva/Seville. He's taking a vacation to the Canary Islands till the 15th, and goes back to work on March 20th, before Semana Santa, but we're planning on meeting up on March 7th down there. No other travel plans yet.... well, ok, we're looking at Barcelona on the 27th of Feb, but we don't have any of the other trip dates yet so I'm hesitant to book anything.
Brussels this weekend, we're going to CouchSurf which I'm sure will be an experience in itself. I'm still looking for a haunted castle, or a haunted chocolate shop...
