Decided to stay in Brighton today to do some local sightseeing. Our hotel in on the waterfront so we strolled along the pier this morning to get the city sightseeing bus.
We hopped off at the Brighton Marina and had a look around and rejoined the bus back into town.
We visited the Brighton Pavilion which to the uninitiated is a rather out of place building in the middle of some fine Georgian and Victorian buildings.
However once inside we were awestruck by the interior, unfortunately we could not take photos but it was amazing. King George built this palace in the 1800's as a summer residence. It is so opulent it is hard to imagine so many excesses were allowed in these times! Well worth the visit.
We ambled around the shops for a while, I decided to walk to the pier for a closer look, Sarah stayed in town.
It was so windy today it made travel to the pier difficult however I finally got there. I walked back to the hotel along the beach (well stones)!
