Went to the zoo today and now I can't get that song "going to the zoo" out of my head. It's so catchy and simple but yet annoying and frustrating at the same time. For those of you who have no idea what I'm on about YouTube it. The zoo was ok, Melbourne's is better, and we got to ride in a the London cab to complete the London transportation hat-trick of tube, double decker bus and cab. So much room in the cabs too, I wouldn't want to be coming home in one if those after a late night, you would fall asleep. Anyway, back to the zoo. There is a few reasons why the zoo wasn't as good as the one at home, the animals weren't as cool (Asiatic lions not African lions, no seals, a farmyard section. I mean come on) was the main one. Also it was very preachy about conservation (which I understand is very important and support it wholeheartedly) and trying to procure money in every enclosure to help achieve this. Lastly the butterfly enclosure looked like (and was) a blow up building. The good things were some of the exhibits. The "meet the monkeys" one was a corker where you go essentially into the cage with the monkeys (little spider monkeys) and they just ran around like you're part of the furniture. Also they had heaps of cool reptiles and birds of prey which were good. It's also Sunday here so it was packed with families which didn't make it better, but that isn't their fault. We are off to Paris for 4 nights tomorrow which will be fun, so once again we bid London adieu and head off over (this time under) the channel (by train this time thank god).
