The three of us have been saving for this five month adventure for over a year now! We have to make our funds last!

For starters it is a little daunting when you have saved for so long and have to buy essential items such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies and food. (I hate to say it, but having a meal plan at QU is VERY convenient!)

We have managed to come up with a few tricks, I have to write them down, because these are things I want to look back on down the road and laugh at our college euro trip budget.

I'm sure we will think of many more in weeks time. <-------- (wait can we talk about how saying "weeks time" is an Irish phrase and I just typed it without thinking!!!!)

1. Centra (similar to a 7/11) has really cheap stuff and it is conveniently a block away.
2. Euro Giant/Dealz (similar to a Dollar Store) are perfect for us to buy essentials like cleaning products, detergent and CANDY!
3. Tesco (similar to the MB) Tesco brands are perfect! 40 cents for a pound of pasta- Mama's taught me so well!
4. The English Market has awesome produce for really cheap and lots of samples. Making friends with the vendors also really helped our Market Monday budgets!
5. Everything can be a sample.
6. We REALLY think before we buy something, especially if it's food. If it's clothing or trip related it's a definite go for it, but somehow when it comes to the essentials that we're used to just having in the house (ie spices) we ponder over it for a few minutes.
7. Group debate and census "WAIT guys do I REALLY need this?" is said about 8 times a day.

8. Take:
-Toilet paper/paper towels
-Soap
-Butter packets
-Jam packets
-Any sort of anything that comes in a packet

9. Reuse EVERYTHING.
-Ziplocks
-Waterbottles
-The bag pasta and bread comes in, don't judge it works.
-Jars/anything that can be justified as a tuperware container.

10. NO BUYING DRINKS!
11. No coffees on the run- make tea in the room!
12. WALK everywhere. Have you seen our hours walking?
13. Always take advantage of free stuff.
14. Get creative. You don't need everything you think you do!
15. Reuse paper.
16. ALWAYS compare prices.
17. You can always find souviners without buying it from the giftshop- stiriers, cups, ect.
18. Always bring your own snack.
