We had to be at the Visitor Centre to start the Resource Tour by 10 to 9. After a short DVD we set off in the bus towards Dampier. On the way just opposite the airport we stopped to look at the salt works and our guide Anna gave a talk about how it all worked. We then went on to the jetty area in Dampier to see the iron ore stock piles, trains filled with ore and how it is loaded onto the ships-amazing! We then went to a nice area on the foreshore for some drinks and morning tea. Then we drove around to the liquid gas plant and to the visitor centre there where we watched another DVD. The workings that is happening in the Karratha/Dampier area is mind boggling. We arrived back at the Visitor Centre around 12.45pm and came home for lunch. I had a hair appointment at 2 pm and Gerry had to check out our leaking tyre. Unfortunately the tyre had a wall leak which cannot be mended so we had to purchase a new one - $300! As well as that they told us te wheel bearings need attention so we are booked in to Exmouth on Friday for that. We had a change in plans this morning - and have decided to pull out of here on Thursday and head to Exmouth for a few days so we can watch the Opening Ceremony in peace and get to Coral Bay easily on Sunday morning. Pork chops for tea!
