Finally able to use my IPad. Had a lot of trouble finding a carrier to supply me with a pay as you go sim.
Had 2 great flights over, must remember to log onto qantas to partition to keep our Aussie pilots in their planes. The first flight hostie was fabulous, kept giving us extra everything including booze.
Our stopover in Singapore was a bit of a waste of time. It was lovely & clean with big wide tropical streets. But there wasn't much to see & expensive. Maybe we were comparing it with VN.
Had to buy a GPS, as Southampton proved to be extremely hard to get find our way around. Ended up staying at Holliday Inn on the waterfront. Very nice.
We had a great time visiting Beauleiu, the international auto jumble sale ( the biggest once a year swap meet with a lot of rare vintage parts & cars). While Bob was with the cars I went on the monorail to do a tour of the castle & gardens on the estate. The estate was used to train spy's for the secret service during the war. So that display really interested me.
Had to drive to Portsmouth for this sim so decided to look over the Isle of Wight. So many houses & visitors for a reasonably small island.
Staying in a lovely B&B, the lady offered to wash our clothes instead of going to the laundrette. We have been well received wherever we go & had compliments on our accents. Maybe because they are beating us at cricket now ?

Julie Bannister Great to see you back on line. I have been to Portsmouth, many years ago. I would of loved the monorail tour of the castle and gardens, I love that type of history. Sounds like Bob would of had fun with his cars at the swap meet too. Keep up the blog, great to hear what you are up to. love Julie
