The Harry Potter Train, this photo is of coarse the 1st class seats that we didn't get to sit in but we were pleased to be able to get tickets just to travel on it. They have been packed out all summer & they were turning people away today, but we got there early to buy them off the guard as they with hold about 40 for visitors. It travels from Fort William to Mallaig taking about 2 hrs.
While we waited for the return trip we had a lovely lunch in a quaint little restaurant. The seafood is getting better the further north we go. There was only one waiter for the packed little shop & I thought he was a little inexperienced as we sat down shortly after another couple & as we did, he said to us " did you hear that " in a very manly Scottish brogue. I said no, earnestly so he repeated the limited menu to us. but thought it funny that this young 15 yo boy was managing the floor with military precision. He brought Bobs tea & I asked for my coffee. He put it down with just the granules in the cup. I said that's the first time that that happened to me with a smile & he said it was his first day. I couldn't believe it. He said "I'm not just saying it to excuse my mistake." I just love the Scotts, I really respected this pimply kid for the way he had to handle the train passengers that only had a short time in his little town to eat their lunch.
The train ride was fantastic, I wish Karen had have been with us as she would have got a lot more out of it having read all the books.
