Another winding road up to the coast.
Bobs having a great time driving like he's in a rally, you can legally do up to 60mph on these narrow roads.
We were lucky to be in Minehead for the Autumn Steam Gala. It runs for 4 days & they had about 7 steam engines all spit polished. The train line runs down to the esplanade which must have been nice to arrive for a seaside holiday from the city. It was a very hot day, blokes walking around with no shirts on, really strange for England I thought.
It was a big station & had a huge turntable close to the platform. It looked strange being easily turned around by 2 men at either end & it was great for the train buffs taking photos. On the other side of the station they had a young kid about 14 filling it with water from an overhead tank & a front end loader filler her with coal.
The workers were filthy from the coal, brought back memories of how my dresses would get dirty when travelling to & from work. I remember the ladies would lay their hankies down on the seat before sitting on them.
It was a very hot day & I was in desperate need of my sunnies.
I picked up a Christmas apron & chefs hat for Louise at one of the local shops. I hope she likes it.
