Stayed in a lovely little B&B ( The Bank House full of nik naks & paintings ) in the very pretty main street that runs down to the beach. The beach is rocky so they put these plastic walkways to the waters edge & also to wheel their boats out on.
We've noticed a lot of middle aged to older have walking sticks. They are for sale everywhere too. One town is tearing up the middle part of their cobbled stone footpath & replacing it with pavers as it is so hard to walk on. So between that, the beaches & the countryside it's no wonder. They do drink a lot over here so maybe that's the reason ?
