Couldn't sleep, worrying that we'd be late picking Karen up at 5.40 am from the airport. She msgd to say the bus was nearly at the meeting place, & where were we? Being a bit naughty,I didn't answer. She was really relieved when she saw us waiting for her when she got out. We looked to get breakfast somewhere that was open that time in the morning ( England doesn't get going till 10am ) & we found a nice little pub. The waitress took our photo, she thought we were strange as we were all talking fast & at the same time, trying to make up for the last month. We wanted to take Karen to Windor Castle but first we had to change some money over so we went to the nearest shopping centre. Bought Karen a replica of the Dianna / Kate ring, a mug & a Christmas decoration. Then took a lot of photos of Karen showing off her ring, she was giving us the right royal poses.
I really wanted to take her to Windsor Castle & Bob remembered it near the Ascott Racecourse. So we drive a couple of hours, end up googling it on my iPad. Punch in the directions & we end up back at the little pub we had breakfast. You can see the top of it in the photo, when I looked back on them thinking about the turret I wanted to get in the background, I should have realised but there's turrets everywhere .
Anywhere it was good seeing Royal Ascott Racecourse, absolutely massive.
We then went to the Camden Markets. It's one of those times when you wish you had a lot if money & unlimited baggage weight to get home. It is a must see when you come to London in my opinion.
We had just enough time for some supper ( camembert, stuffed with garlic & rosemary served with jam & toast) & a drink before we dropped her off at her friends place. Another great pub, lovely atmosphere at Hammersmith close to Alisha's.
They screamed when they saw eachother & we were confident everything was ok.
