We arrived at Amsterdam Centraal station at 12.40pm from Brussels and walked across the road to our hotel, Hotel Victoria. We checked in and confirmed out flight to London for Thursday and arranged our airport transfer pick-up time.
Decided to walk back to the train station and go to the Tourist Information Centre to get a city map then walked down Damrak for lunch and to read and send emails from the EasyInternetCafé.
We continued on to Dam Square which had a large carnival in the middle of it meaning it was difficult to get an photos of the square itself. Managed to get some pictures of the Royal Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk and the National Monument.
We then walked across to Anne Frank's House and went on the tour. No photos were allowed inside but it was interesting to see how cramped the conditions were and there is also some background information on all the people that were in hiding there.
We returned to Dam Square and walked on through the Red Light District with its coffee shops and prostitutes "advertised" in windows on our way back to the hotel for a short rest. We then went out in search of dinner at 6.30pm and after a little while spent wandering around we decided to eat at an Italian Restaurant off Dam Square. After dinner we went back to the hotel for the night.
