Ok so I'm back again. When I got up today I got going to see if I could do jade carving. Yes I could so before we started mum and I went to the beach to see if we could find some jade. We found lots of green rocks that we were told were just rock. Dam it. Anyway I went and started doing the jade carving. It was so much fun. I had to draw a picture to carve onto the jade and cut the outline with a stanly knife. Then came the fun part. I had to transfer the outline onto the jade. After this I had to use a diamond bladed grinder until I ground the jade Down to my outline Then I drew the face onto the tiki. After this I had to grind it into shape. So after shaping it I had sanding and buffing to do but with patience, and 3 hours later I had the end product. It was really cool and I had a great time. The guys there were great. Leaving with my tiki in hand we went and got some lunch before leaving to head the Fox Glaciers. While waiting for lunch to cook mum told me to take some pictures of a chair. She said that I had to take them for Jason because she is going to ask him to make it for her. After this we headed for the glaciers. We had to walk up a river bed then up a slight hill. When we got to the viewing deck it was..... Well ...... Amazing. I have never seen such a thing. It even looked black in some places.
