Rog took the car in for a service today to a local mechanic in Howard Springs whilst the kids and I stayed in the caravan playing lego and drawing/colouring-in. We then went for a swim in the pool.
We had a quick lunch then Rog dropped the kids and I at Casuarina Shopping Centre while he went to the Darwin Military Museum. I really enjoyed browsing through the shops again and the kids were so well behaved (probably cause it's been so long since they have been dragged through a shopping centre!).
Then it was off to Mindle Markets. It's such a great night out with people everywhere and entertainment. We looked at the stalls (until the kids got bored) with all the different knick knacks and at all the food stalls (which there are heaps). I thought Josh wanted a BBQ pork Vietnamese roll so I bought him that only to find out he only wanted a plain bread roll! So we fixed the misunderstanding with some sushi instead and he was happy then. We sat down and listened to music and then the kids spent ages playing with the circus act stuff. Bronte was very upset when I dragged her away to walk onto the beach to watch the sunset. There were people everywhere and it was a nice sunset. We then watched the fire show but Bronte didn't enjoy it as the man's t-shirt was on fire and he took his shirt off and was a silly man (so Bronte told us) so I took her to watch some whip cracking (which she wasn't fussed on that either) but she loved a local girl around 16 who was busking by singing. She had a beautiful voice and we both enjoyed listening to her.
I wasn't very hungry for dinner after eating the kids rejected food but decided I better try a croc burger after seeing so many croc's on the holiday. It wasn't anything great and probably a bit tough but at least I know what it tastes like (similar to chicken but a different texture!!) and i won't have to wonder.
We left the markets as the kids cracked it because we wouldn't buy them a slushie or take them on the jumping castle (what slack parents we are!).
They both fell asleep in the car so it was a very easy bedtime tonight.
We are heading to Litchfield National Park tomorrow so not sure when we will have service again.
