Day 35 - Litchfield NP to Mathison
We had a slow start and Rog cooked bacon & eggs for breakfast. We chatted to our SA friends and then had to say goodbye.
We walked down to the plunge pool for a quick swim before our departure.
We drove out of Florence Falls campground around 10:30am.
As we were driving near Batchelor we saw a baby European calf suckling from its mum while she cleaned it - it was very sweet.
We then stopped at Adelaide River Inn/303 Bar to see Charlie The Buffalo from Crocodile Dundee and there was also Jock the Crock a 5 mtr saltwater croc. Bronte also wanted to go to the local markets which consisted of about 4 stalls.
We then continued our drive to Katherine where we fuelled and shopped. Poor Bronte had a bird poo on her just as we were walking to the shops - she was horrified but we told her that it’s good luck!
We then headed west towards the WA border. We stopped at Mathison Rest Area and while we were getting dinner ready Josh very excitedly set-up a campfire so unfortunately we had to light it for him. He loved it but we didn’t let it burn too long.
We watched a beautiful sunset as we were eating our dinner.
