Soongies' Great Adventure
We all went into Aranjuez for a traditional Spanish breakfast comprising a hot drink, churros, tortilla, bread and porras. The churros - which were so fresh and tasty - only cost 15 cents each! After this we wandered through the Saturday markets - firstly the flea market and then the impressive fresh produce market. We bought mangoes (€1.50 per kg), a pineapple (€1) and some bananas (€1.50 per kg). We came home and did some more therapy with Yahya and then were treated to some delicious wraps and home made mango, persimmon and banana smoothie for lunch. Calvin and Kate then took the train into Madrid (about a 1 hour journey) to get some produce from an Asian supermarket so that Calvin can cook some yummy Asian food for Hanan and Mohammad. We then took the train back and prepared some Vietnamese rice paper rolls for dinner! So nice to have hoisin sauce again! We spent the night looking at wedding photos (Hanan and Mohammed rode on camels in their wedding!) and talking the night away with great conversation.
