Last day of teaching practise today and it was quite sad to be saying goodbye to the students so soon - just as we had really been getting to know them. This afternoon we had a tutorial to find out who had been assigned to Kindergarden classes for their placement (as they have different lessons next week). No one in my group was in the list which we were all very relieved about. Went out for dinner with a couple of the Chinese assistants (who have been helping us settle into China and have been helping us with the language barriers) who introduced us to Dumplings which are kind of similiar to ravioli. Afterwards we all went to a Roller Disco to celebrate the end of teaching practise - it was fancy dress so all the guys were told to dress up as women and the women to wear neon. It wasn't until we actually were ready to go that the organisers told us that it was actually illegal to be a transvestite in Harbin and that if we got pulled over by the police that it could affect our visa's - excellent planning!
