Last day of an amazing trip!
Went to Pamella Park. Absolutely amazing. Built by this crazy baker who decided one day to move to Australia and build a public leisure area. It has a massive waterfall, picnic area, a museum, tennis courts, zoo and a theatre. It got neglected until the family that discovered began to bring it back to its former glory. Zammit took me around telling me all the history as he used to be a tour guide there. Was absolutely beautiful and something most backpackers wouldn't bother seeing.
Walking around during the day gave me a much better unerstanding of the park. We saw micro bats all huddled together on the ceiling of part of the building, some of them with their wings over their young. We then walked through this gorgeous lane of bamboo and fed the turtles. They were so cute, as they try to scramble up the rocks with their shells completely getting in the way.
The drive back to Cairns and to work is completely beautiful, vast sugar cane fields and the rainforest mountains covered in clouds.
Working in the evening turned out to be a right adventure! Sam came in with Sarah and they were getting smashed, compliments of me! Had a few sneaky shots too! After work we all decided a messy one was in order! So Sam decided Zammit and I needed to catch up as we had been working. 10 mins later of the "blowing a stack of cards, card game" we were smashed. Ygermiester and southern comfort is not a nice drink to down. Zammit and I were both on the verge of pucking it all back up!
Was so ridiculous, but fun fun fun!
