So last night after work we went for a bit of a drink. So when I had to pack and be waiting to get picked up at 7.15am I wasn't too perky to say the least. I thought I'd be okay though as we were just getting a bus all the way there so I'd just sleep.
WRONG! Turns out the tour included a croc river cruise, a jungle forest trek and tour with some stops at some places of interest. NIGHTMARE! Hot, on a boat, hung over like s***. I definately want appreciating the crocs like everyone else.
Eventually we arrived at PK's Jungle Villiage at Cape Tribulation. I was completely overwhelmed. We were in the middle of the rainforest! Thick, lush looking trees, wildlife everywhere. Looks like a spot that only celebraties can afford, I didnt realise you could stay at places like this.
Met my roomates, two Swedish and a German girl, along with one very pervy Israely guy, who thought he'd hit the jackpot. Four blondes and him. We all took a stroll to the beach, which was spectacular, exactly like you see in the picture books. This is what I came away for. Cape Tribulation is the only place where the rainforest meets the beach. Beautiful soft white sand, against green leaves with a never ending blue sky. It reallly is a piece of paradise, somewhere i'd imagine to go on my honeymoon.
On our way back we saw a moth thst was bigger than a saucer! Didn't know moths existed that size! Had a few drinks at the bar and met some more people. The bar closed early, so I managed to convince everyone beers, on the beach with the stars above our heads was in order. Next thing I know theres loads of us, someone has made a bonfire and a guy is singing on the guitar. Magical. Was so special, the stars were amazing. We were all drunken and singing at the top of our lungs.
Definately one of the biggest highlights of my trip so far. Cannot wait to bring Pete here.
