Up and out for breakfast at a charming place in town, Heart and Soul Cafe with its cut western vibe and the delicious oatmeal pancakes! Then it was off for sweet me retail therapy at the Cowboy Shop. Success for Larry, not so much me.
Next up was the Museum of the Mountain Man. This great museum is run by their local historical society, and is really well done.
The primary focus is the trappers who worked the area form about 1822-1840. Theses me trapped many animals, but primarily beaver. The museum displays their cloth, materials, shelter, and weapons used, as well as their relationship with the Native Americans of the area.
Decided to try the Skyline Scenic Drive. So happy we did. This road take you past Fremont lake. Such a beautiful drive up the mountain, each pull out view more breathtaking than the last!
Returned back to Pinedale and off the Jackson via 191 which is. National scenic highway.
This highway has it all from the prairie to hills to streams to cattle ranches to cliffs and mountain peaks ( some with snow) , it is truly lovely.
Our room was not quite ready, so walked to Jackson Square with its antler arches, and went to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar for a late lunch and libations. Enjoyed our time there, and off to explore the shops before it was time to check in.
