On the road again! Left suburban Indianapolis and off through corn country. Through the pretty town of Pendelton, and took a slight detour. Traveled through lits of corn fields and even met up with two combines!
Eventually we made it back on a highway and off to our next stop. Spending the night at the Lodge at Olgebay Resort. This Resort is in Olgebay Park, the only self supporting municipal public park in the country. The park is a former summer farm of Earl Olgebay who deed it to the town of Wheeling, for the purpose of public recreation.
The park and resort are absolutely gorgeous. Consisting of beautiful trails, several ponds ( one offers paddle boats), two Championship golf courses, another par 3, gardens, a small zoo, and skiing in the winter, there is something for everyone. There are also small cottages, a glass museum, and other shops. The lodge has a pretty indoor pool, large game room, resort shop, and several restaurants and bars. Plenty to do !
Larry headed back to the Wheeling Island Casino, while I was able to walk around and explore this beautiful property. Met later for drinks and had dinner at the Classworks Grill. Yummy!
Back to the room to watch the Phillies victory, then off to sleep! Tomorrow heading to the city of Brotherly love.
