Hello again!! We eventually arrived at Townsville Ferry Station at 5pm,2 hours later than scheduled as the Greyhound Bus broke down on the way to us!! Never mind me and Gavin played a bit of Frizzby and ria read a book waiting patiently!! Once we were at the ferry stop we already had return tickets booked as we booked 3 nights at Maggie's Beachouse $79 each which included the ferry and bus return plus a beach view dorm....not bad hey!!
When we got to Maggie's we were suprised everything advertied was correct the hostel was really nice and it was on 'Horseshoe Bay' a beautiful beach with a Stinger Net to swim safely. That evening we had a quiet night just played cards and met a few people in the bar as it seems everyone travels the same way so we're constantly bumping into the same people.
In the morning we decided to book a 'Moke' (4 seat go-kart) it was real fun. Me,Ria & Gavin shared the cost. Theres only 9KM of road on the small Island and the roads are very up and down which makes it plenty of fun. We visited all beaches......Nelly Bay, Picnic Bay, Alma Bay & Horseshoe we're where staying they were so gorgeous. In the afternoon we were told of a walk that would give us a chance to see Koala's in the wild it was called the 'Fort Walk' we started around 4pm and it was a 2 hour walk. About 1 hour into the walk Ben spotted a Koala in the tree and then we managed to spot 4 or 5 they were awesome and very cute!! Someone asked us a funny question....do Koala's fall out of tree's when they die??? how random!!
That evening we visted another hostel 'Base' it was better hostel than ours and the bar was lively so we chilled there had a few quiet drinks. In the morning Gavin left us to do our own thing.....we didnt really do anything just boring laundry and Ben watched the cricket and we had a little swim. Then about 3pm a couple of girls we knew asked us if we wanted to go see some 'Rock Wallabies' and feed the 'Lorikeets' (birds) we had a great time fed the wild 'Wallabies' took some nice photos and just watched them, then we fed the birds that was crazy Ben had Soggy bread in both hands and they were sitting on his head his arms and feeding out of his hands it was funny.
Again we had a quiet evening and left in the Morning for Airlie Beach we're we had our Whitsunday sailing to do, Magnetic Island was beautiful and a really awesome place for wildlife spotting and good walks and lookouts.....speak to you soon from Airlie Beach. We're having a absoulute amazing time we can't believe how good Australia is!!! Love you Ben & Riaxx
