Got here last night after an 11 hour flight, ready to start our adventure. Had to get an airport bus to our hostel which took around 90mins as traffic was soooo bad. Finally got to hostel and checked in. Managed to carry rucksack up 4 flights of tiny winding stairs (with bens help of course) and discovered that the electric wasnt working in our room. Woman at reception didnt believe us so decided to try it herself-eventually she moved us to another room, ok, but we are positive our original room was better!! Headed out onto Khaosan Road, really busy, fruit stalls and food traders everywhere cooking noodles and rice-so cheap, bout 20p for a meal. Decided on an italian, both had pasta for 3pounds-think we cud get used to this cheap eating Got caught in massive thunder storm on way back, was quite refreshing thou and we soon had a laugh wen we discovered that rain and humidity and my hair=frizz!!!! Both felt a bit wierd as we tried to get to sleep, obviously a bit of a culture shock so ended up playing cards till 230am-i beat ben much to his disgust!!!!! So not much to report so far but sure itl get more exciting as we settle into life in Thailand
