Today we began our 14 day cruise on "Norwegian Sun". We'll travel south around the southern tip of South America ending in Santiago Chili. We have beautiful weather as we sail out of the harbor!

This was our last full day in Buenos Aires. We attended a dinner at restaurant "The Argentine Experience". There were 16 people attending and we put on our aprons and chef hats and learned to make empanadas, alfajores (cookies filled with caramel,rolled in coconut and dipped in chocolate" and mate (argentine tea). We had a full day in beautiful Buenos Aires. We started our day with a Tigre Delta River Cruise. This took us to the city of Tigre where we boarded a boat to cruise through the islands to see vacation homes and year round residents. They receive their supplies via a supermarket boat that delivers to their docks. People were swimming and playing in this river but I don't think I would enter this very brown water. Today we headed out of the city to the Santa Susana Ranch to experience the life of a Gaucho (Argentine Cowboy). We were greeted with fried empanadas (better than baked) and wine. It was a beautifully maintained ranch and we had an opportunity to go for horse ride around their property. We were served an Argentine BBQ lunch. They love their meat in Agentina!! We arrived back in Buenos Aires and have a great location with the Emperador hotel. Safe walking distance to many things. Since we arrived in South America we have yet to meet other US travelers which is very unusual from our other traveling experiences. We love the food but at times aren't sure what we're getting until it's delivered. Randy has mastered " no comprende" .....the extent of his Spanish. Many little sidewalk cafes.
