Another day seemed to slip away just enjoying Fiji. We seemed to have gotten lazy and are quite content doing nothing. The resort staff were trimming coconut trees and offered Randy a couple of coconuts. They cut the tops open so we could enjoy the milk. Bula, Bula, Bula! Fiji is wonderful and relaxing. We love the quote of one singer who said "Fiji time makes the Mexican mañana look like rush hour". We have been on Fiji time and loving it. Today we went to the Mamanuca islands. It was a tour on a 83 foot schooner. We anchored off the island of Modrika where we went snorkeling and spent some time on the beach. Modrika was the island in the Tom Hanks movie 'Castaway' and it is uninhabited. It is a beautiful island with soft white sand. The coral and snorkeling was good. We arrived in Fiji last evening and were warmly greeted. "Bula" means hello or welcome and you are greeted by this salute by everyone here! The Fijians are very warm and friendly and would do anything to make your visit good. Today we just relaxed and enjoyed the resort. We are staying on Denarau Island and the Denarau Port is a good spot to catch various day cruises to check out some of the islands. There are 333 Fiji Islands and about 100 that are inhabited...

Today we drove to Auckland and we will fly out to Fiji tomorrow. Randy had a pretty great day as he sailed on one of the America's Cup Sailing boats. It was built in 1995 and was a contender in the America's Cup finals. He had a chance to take a turn on the grinder. (Which is a wench handle to tighten the lines.)
