Ushuaia- The city at the world's end. This has to be the most beautiful port!! It is the capital of Tierra del Fuego. And the National Park is beautiful where we were able to do a short hike around one of the lakes. It is regarded as the southernmost city in the world. It is bounded on the north by the Martial mountain range, and on the south by the Beagle Channel.
We left port early afternoon because the departure was spectacular! We passed what they refer to as the "Avenue of Glaciers". We passed Holanda, Espana, Italia, Francia, Alemanis and Romanche glaciers. They were named by Magelan for his crew members.
The channel is tight so there was viewing on both sides of the ship. We were told to expect clouds, wind and rain but it was GORGEOUS weather. We could see the snow capped mountain range without clouds....loved this port!!
