Randy & Marilyn's Retirement Travels
We spent our day in Cartegena, Columbia. It is on the northern coast of Columbia often called the pearl if the Caribbean. It is a colonial walled city, and the fortress Castillo San Felipe de Barajas sits perched atop the San Lazaro Hill where it once protected the city from enemy attack.
Here we took a horse carriage ride which took us around Cartegena's Old Town. riding along narrow cobblestone streets and through the squares inside the walled city. We loved this city and would have loved to spend more time. The guides were quick to tell us of the safety of the country as the government has made many improvements. We would like to come back!
