Day 93. Up very early for a big day travelling east to Eucla on the Eyre Highway following the Great Australian Bight. We were surprised about the famous 'treeless' Nullarbor- plenty of trees and wildflowers and even a long range of hills that went for a hundred or more kilometres. Maybe the flat treeless plain will come after Eucla??? The drop after Madura Pass was spectacular as was the scenic view and so unexpected. We arrived into Eucla CP around mid afternoon and were able to select our own drive-through site on top of the range overlooking the blue water and white sandhills of the Bight. The old telegraph station of the 1880s is just below us, abandoned and the white sand has blown in. Dinner tonight a big home cooked soup as we are passing through SA Quarantine tomorrow and so Raechel has thrown everything in the pot! Drove 605km, fine sunny day 20 degrees, windy.
