We awoke to the diesel heater not working on a chilly morning so I thought the best course of action was to have a nice hot shower. The lights seemed to be flickering a little as the pump ran but I lathered my hair in shampoo anyway at which point the power cut out completely! No more pumped water or lights. Arrg!! Fortunately there was some water in the kettle and a thermos from yesterday so I was able to flush out (in the semi darkness) the rest of the shampoo. Spent the next half hour trying to work out what had happened, reading the caravan electrical manuals and thinking that we must have blown a fuse before it dawned upon me that the battery had gone flat! Duh! Was able to reset it after turning all the power draining things off and we made it through the early morning, eventually connecting to the car with engine running!
Our daughter Sarah flew up to Brisbane yesterday with a friend to attend a music festival at Byron Bay in the next few days. We had arranged to meet them in Brisbane for breakfast so headed that way and had a lovely time with them all.
Back to the van and prepared for departure, leaving at lunchtime for Sandstone Point where we had booked for 2 nights.
