We were only able to book 1 night at Tannum Sands so packed up and left at about 9:00am heading for Agnes Water. On the way we booked an unpowered site at the Reef Caravan Park about 10 mins drive before Agnes Water. Our site was large with lots of trees, although not as challenging to drive through as yesterday! Set up and after lunch headed for the town of 1770 where we thought it might be time to unleash the Kayaks! Well, that was a waste of time. We initially parked in the wrong spot near the boat ramp and blocked access until we realised. Then we got the kayaks in the water just as the wind picked up and there was a constant stream of boats using the ramp so the water was quite rough! We got out after about 5 minutes and lugged the gear back to the car somewhat crestfallen! Off then to the James Cook monument and a nice walk to the point before a bit of shopping and dinner in the van. (not pizza!)
