Our Global Gallivants
Another sunny, hot, but windy day. At times, the temperature on the car thermometer was reading 93, When we go to karate class, we have to drive to a little town called Dunedin. Other than reading a sign, you can't tell where one town ends and another one starts. It looks like a sweet place, so we decided to go exploring there today. Dunedin is where the Toronto Blue Jays do their spring training. We drove along the "scenic" route and stopped in a couple of parks. They have a bike/walking path along the waterfront. It would be a great place to bike or walk. There were a few people fishing along the water. They have quite a few benches spaced along the path as well, so you can rest and enjoy the view. It's very bike friendly here, with designated bike paths on most roads. We drove up and down some streets looking at some of the waterfront homes here. Definitely nice, but nowhere as ostentatious and over the top as Ft. Lauderdale. Each time we go to karate we drive past this little shop advertising homemade ice cream, so of course that was one of the stops today. Although they were making the waffle cones right there and advertising homemade ice cream, that does not guarantee good! We had almond joy and chocolate chip and they both tasted the same. There were ice chunks in the chocolate chip and they used cheap chocolate. We browsed through some of the shops and galleries, but didn't buy anything. It was another pleasant day.
