We drove to St. Petersburg today. I wanted to see the Sunken Gardens and it was a nice day for it. The gardens started in 1903 when George Turner bought the property. It's a 4 acre site, so nothing like Busch Gardens in Victoria. There was a small lake on the property that was 10 feet below sea level. He drained it and used that area for the sunken garden. There are 2 markets that happen here. The Pierce Street Market is every second Saturday and the Market in St. Petersburg is every Saturday. We went to both of them. St. Petersburg's market had mostly fresh produce and food. We bought some veggies and popcorn. Jody had her caricature drawn by someone who used to draw cartoons.
