Our Global Gallivants
Today we decided to go to Fort De Soto County Park. It's 21 miles from where we are staying. The park is actually a chain of 5 interconnected islands. It's composed of 1136 acres of parkland and beach. Part of the park is off limits because it's a shorebird habitat area. Because of that, there were a number of different birds coming and going. It's difficult to get a good photo of a bird in flight. It's a peaceful place will all kinds of trees. I can't say that the beach is great after having been to Clearwater yesterday, but still nice and there were very few people there. We set up the lawn chairs and had lunch on the beach. Heaven! We read our book and watched the birds and the odd boat go by. When we got back to the condo, Jen, the roommate was there. She just purchased a house so was stopping by to grab some of her stuff. We invited her for supper and she was more than happy to stay since her boyfriend is a vegetarian and we were barbecuing steaks. Watched a movie after dinner. It was a relaxing day. Partly cloudy, but got up to 75* today.
