Our Global Gallivants
It was supposed to warm up to 21 today, but actually only made it to 19. Today is going to be the day to go to the beach. We went to Indian Rocks beach first, but it was still pretty chilly out, so we decided it was lunchtime. We drove by a crab restaurant on the way to the beach and that sounded great. We ordered the local stone crab and pig nachos. The portion size of the nachos was ridiculous, but of course they were good. The stone crab was perfectly cooked and delicious. Afterwards, we drove to Clearwater Beach and spent the afternoon there. The sand is beautiful there and has the same consistency and sound as wet cornstarch. The water was cold, though, but there were still a number of people on the beach in bathing suits. It's a real mind bender when the sun is shining and you're on the beach, but the sand is cold! Enjoyed an ice cream on the beach. There was a crowd of people on the beach, so we had to go investigate. A bunch of seaweed washed up on the beach and with it came all sorts of sea life from horseshoe crabs to scallops to star fish and other things that I didn't know the name of. People were sifting through it and running off with shells, some of which were still alive. We went to karate tonight, but of course Dave didn't train. It was fun, worked on some combination moves and kakie.
