Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
It takes us about 20mins to drive into Broome from our caravan park. We chose to stay here though because it was really cheap for them to store the caravan for a few days while we drove up the Dampier Peninsula. We checked out a few Gallery's one a photographers and one a painters which were impressive. We then had lunch down at Town Beach which is on Roebuck Bay and overlooks a beautiful ocean.
We then went for a drive to Reddell’s Beach. There is a dirt track running behind the beach with great views of the cliffs.
This afternoon we went on a camel ride at Cable Beach. Zach & Matt went on the biggest camel and his name was Tiny. He was 23 years old and 950kg. Tiny was saved from the abattoir on the day he was to be no longer. Zach got to ride by himself at the front of the camel because it wasn't busy so they had many free camels. Zach enjoyed his ride and said it was bumpy. Liam and my camel was called Wangai. He was 17 years old and came from Whalesong on the Dampier Peninsula as a pet. He is their most tolerant and protective of children and was also their fastest learner training in 4 months instead of the usual 6-12months. There are 3 companies and we went with Red Sun Camels wearing the red blankets. The staff were great and I think the 30mins was perfect. We did the pre-sunset tour but the most popular sunset tour goes for an hour which I think would have been too long. The camel tours are actually conducted on the nudist beach so we also saw a few nudies along the way.
We met Kenan and Clare back at their resort and then watched the sunset over cable beach, ending the night with pizza before they fly home tomorrow.
