Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We first went to Shell Beach which is full of cockle shells. It is one of only two beaches in the world entirely made out of shells. They reach an average depth of around 7-10m and form limestone. Just after leaving Shell Beach we passed through the feral animal fence. When you drive slowly through it, you can hear the sound of dogs barking coming out of a speaker.
We stopped by the first of the Kalbarri National Park lookouts. These were Ross Graham and Hawks Head and were both a short easy walk with nice views.
We camped at the nearby Murchison House Station so we could see more of Kalbarri National Park tomorrow. Their primary industry is the trapping and selling of goats. They also have hand raised goats on the property that visitors are welcome to enter the shed to pat. Matt was the most excited about this and would love to own a goat. We explored the Von Bibra cottage which was built in 1860, the old shearing shed and then patted the goats. A couple of goats locked horns a few times. We had quiet bush camping beside the river.
