We did plan on driving up to Cape Leveque today but the road in to Mercedes Cove was longer than we expected and we didn't feel like another big day on bumpy roads. We stopped in at Beagle Bay at the Sacred Heart Church. Pearl shells are a big part of the design inside and the alter appeared in the movie Bran Nue Dae. It was built in 1918 by the German priests and local indigenous people, modelled on a black and white photograph of a village church in Germany.
