Today we watched movies, lots of movies! Under a duvet. It was cold and rainy and miserable so going out was not really a good option as there wasn’t anything inside to do and gardens in this weather would have been rubbish. After 4pm the snack market opens just round the corner from Paul’s house on the way to the veg market. Snacks in China are crazy, as I’ve said before, they are nothing like English snacks. There were about 50 people with a Bunsen burner and pan making the most random stuff, we got a box of noodles and lotus roots, a curly wurly like thing but huge and made of rice flour, an odd pizza thingy on rice flour base, two green sticky balls that I have no idea what they are or why they're green cos Kelly said they are 'rice just rice' she's helpful like that! I also had some rolls that are filled with veggies but are boiled not baked so look raw, some deep fried mouli shredded and moulded into a bun shape.
It was all very strange. The green balls turned out to be sweet rice paste with red bean paste inside, not unpleasant but not really nice either!
