Surprisingly karma had it say today and after getting a taxi all the way to the front door of the Sony shop the laptop was there waiting with everything installed the way it should have been! Paul had an essay to write so we mostly spent the day continuing to repair and reinstall our own laptop and trying to stay warm in the freezing cold.Nowhere in China has radiators. They all have an AC unit in each room that serves to cool down the hot 38 degree summers and to warm the -10 degree winters. The problem is that the warming part is rubbish. It's basically just a fan heater in the top of the unit. The thing we have found though is that Chinese people don't seem to feel the cold. If a shop has a heater on its rare and if they do they almost always have the door propped open anyway. Even in the houses we have been to no-one has central heating and some don't even have ACs in every room. Bathrooms are generally icy and I'm sure they only have those fluffy loo seat covers so your bottom doesn't actually freeze to the seat!
