The day after the interview I got an email saying that I had the job and that they would send me the contract so after a day to look over it and show it to Paul I was ready to sign. They asked me to come directly to the school so I could also look at the teaching materials. It wasn’t the best day for me as yesterday was Paul’s birthday so we had walked for miles to find him the perfect foot rest on a street that was made up solely of furniture warehouses, then in the evening we had gone to Kelly’s Dads for dinner and Baijo (local spirit drink) then on to the pub for beers! I went home at 1am but was too cold to sleep then Vincent and Paul came home drunk at 4am and woke me – so I was pretty tired.
I arrived at the school somewhat annoyed due to lack of sleep and the taxi driver taking me on a tourist route that ended up costing double the amount it should have. I signed the contract and was given three text books. I had a look over the work, which seemed easy enough, then I spotted they had a guitar and a piano so that should be fun. There were a few children there already, their parents bring them in so they are used to the building and the staff before term then when the parents have to leave them there alone next week they aren’t so scared. One of them was a lovely little girl who was very shy and kept coming over to me and saying ‘hello’.
I went with Cheery to her restaurant again for lunch and we chatted about lots of things including Vincent. Her mother ended up asking if Vincent could meet her husband on Saturday for lunch as he might be able to help find him work.
I got a text from Paul asking if I could meet Vincent after work at 5pm on the walking street, so we went and got pizza!
