15th January 2011 (please see drop down box for earlier entries)
Today we slept in till 12 :o) It was great! I was meant to go kayaking in the morning but I didn't want to as it was very expensive and something I could do in Guernsey. One of the reasons we slept so late was that we were up tll 1am chatting to a German lad called Robby, one of the guys we swapped the tent with.
After we had got ready, we took a walk down to the shop for an ice-cream as it was SO warm today. We headed back for 4pm as Nina was due to be picked up for skydiving! I was allowed to go and watch so we got in the van and went to pick up Jon, an American guy who was also doing it. When we got there they had to be weighed and briefed and dressed in oh-so-sexy one piece suits. I thought they were crazy but they loved it and want to do it again! Abel Tasman is marketed at NZ's highest skydive at 16,500 feet but has now been surpassed by Franz Josef at 18.000 feet.
When we got back in the evening, a few of us decided to go to the pub down the road and watch a band. I swear this band had taken too many drugs in their lives! And there was a guy in the audience who was climbing up the columns in the room and hanging from the door frames. I guess the band really spoke to him!
Leaving tomorrow for Barrytown - AKA Baz-vegas!
