Today we drove down to Foxton Beach to meet Tina's friend Liz (it's her house we're staying at), her dog Lewie (a Sealyham terrier) and her granddaughter Emma. They're at a camp site in Liz's ladybug camper van which is awesome. We bought a tent and sleeping bags but we both forgot our pillows, Tina forgot her shoes and a toothbrush and I forgot a towel!
It's a lovely place right next to the beach so we went for a walk along the beach when we got there as Liz wasn't around. I've never seen so much driftwood before and there were hundreds of dead jellyfish which are called 'bluebottles'. You're allowed to drive and park your cars on the beach here which I think is a shame.
When we got back to camp, Emma went to play in the park with some friends she'd made so we went and chilled out at the Liz's van. A man came round and told us there was a sports day for the kids happening soon so we took the dog for a walk down there to watch Emma. They split the kids into 5 teams of 5 and each team also needed an adult so guess who got volunteered? *sigh* I ended up doing a relay (in flip flops - with my stupid gangly legs flying all over the place), some game involving buckets of water and cups with holes in the bottom and a tug-of-war. Yes, a tug-of-war. Well, I was about as useful as...well, a not very useful thing during that one. It was all good fun and our team came third!
When we got back to the van, we went for another walk with Lewie and came back for tea which was lovely. Me and Teen went to sleep in our tent, which we put up all by ourselves (well, with a bit of help from Liz) and I slept really well till 6am.
Did you know that they call cornershops 'dairy's' here?
Lots of love
