20th January 2011
Today we left Makarora at 9.30am and headed towards Queenstown. On the way, we stopped in Wanaka at a place called Puzzleworld which is full of optical illusions and a giant labyrinth which was GREAT fun. There was a room that made me feel sea sick as it was all sideways so I couldn't stay in there for very long! Very interesting place and I got a squashed penny for my collection :o)
Just outside Queenstown, we stopped at Kaiwoura (sp?) Bridge, where AJ Hackett has a bungy site. We were only there to have a look but 6 or 7 guys from the bus ended up jumping and absolutely loved it! It was 43m tall and was above a river so you could choose to be dunked in if you wanted but the water was freezing!
When we got to Queenstown, Dan dropped us at our hostel (Nomads) which is really nice and even has a sauna. They have a free breakfast and evening meal too which is amazing. I am sharing with Nina, a new guy and girl from Stray called Tom and Renate and a couple from Kiwi Experience called Dean and Tiffany who are on their honeymoon. I love Queenstown! It's such a nice place.
Everyone decided to go out tonight but I couldn't be bothered so just stayed at the hostel and spoke to Benji <3

21st January 2011
Today we woke up at 10.30am (lazy so and so's) and I skyped Benji :o) We found out that last night Isi managed to get in the way of a guy who was falling down the stairs and he landed on her, giving her 2 cuts on her head, concussion and a fractured spine :o/ Another guy on Stray dislocated his shoulder skydiving and another one burst every blood vessel in his eye doing a 143m bungy! Not a good day for those guys!
For lunch we had a devil burger which was SO good. One of the best burgers ever. Then we went luging! First, we got a cable car up to the top of the hill/mountain/high thing and I was so scared. Then we had to get a chair lift which scared me even more and then we got to luge down the hill! After the 4th time on the chair lift I was used to it and even managed to open my eyes. Hahaha. The view from the top was amazing and you can see the whole of Queenstown. The cable car on the way down was awesome and I managed to keep my eyes open for that too - which was a big thing for me!
Me and Jon went for a walk through the park and along the sea front which was really nice as the scenery is really beautiful around here. We ended up in a bar with everyone else and had a really nice night.
Jet boating tomorrow!

22nd January 2011
Today me and Jon went jet boating! We got a bus at 11.50am which took us to Skipper's Canyon. It took an hour to get there and it was the most terrifying journey of my life. The road was cut into a cliff and was barely wide enough for the vehicle. At one point the drop was 600ft :o( But once we were there, we got given life jackets and taken on the ride of our lives! The boat was amazing and was spinning 360 and getting really close to the rocks. It was so much fun and also educational as he showed up old relics from when they mined for gold. Also saw where one of the scenes from Lord of the Rings was filmed. After a treacherous journey back to town we met Nina, had some lunch and went to sit by the lake.
Now i'm in an internet cafe writing this! Tonight we are meant to be going out for one last night as we leave tomorrow morning. And free spag bol at the hostel tonight!
Speak again from Milford Sound!
Miss you all
