Having listened to the mad Scots man from Ireland?? back in Rishikesh we decided to go check out Vashiste! Got up at 08.30am and had banana porridge with honey downstairs in the stoner restaurant (Large room full of cushions and carpets with rock burns oh and of course walls full of Bob Marley paintings and the very famous alien "Take me to your dealer"! Ha HA it was so funny in there but so relaxing!! Set off to Vashiste which was some 3km away, it was quite cold up here which was the perfect excuse to wear that dodgy hat I had bought-good job it was lined with fleece otherwise the wool would have irritated me something chronic!! Got to the bottom of the mountain where the waterfall was to be located at the top and decided to stop for a tea. Made our accent up the mountain fighting wild beasts and the cold well not entirely true but I did get nettled a few times. After about ten minutes we stopped-lucky for us we brought a girl!!! She couldn't hack the change in pressure or the change in oxygen availability, after a dramatic speech we decided not to go on and to turn around to head back-Gutted!! Called in at the "world peace cafe" in Vashiste on the way back to Manali, had Tofu curry and rice. This was weird becuase the fact that they had called the thing a curry was hyporcritical. The English in the past had given this name to anything that was spicy and so for them to use it also!!! Oh well not to worry it was lovely. Spent the afternoon doing once again nothing!! Went for tea at the DVD showing place. I ordered Chicken Masala, plain rice, plain naan 2 chapatis and momo's for starters. The waiter "are you sure??", just to show him I was... I ate the lot and had banana nutella pancake for dessert! Early night as getting up at 01.30am to get the Jeep to Leh at 02.00am! I will return to this place after Leh to find that waterfall and next time I will go alone!!
