2010!!! WOOOOP!
We eventually made it out of bed at a reasonable hour and shared stories of last nights antics with our room mates. It seems a good time was had by all!
We managed to book coaches and hostels for the next few days in Canberra and Melbourne. We leave Sydney tomorrow to head to Canberra for two nights.
We then made it out of the hostel and headed for the beach! We still hadn't visited Bondi beach so caught the train and bus there. It wasn't particularly sunny, more cloudy, but still very warm. We had fish and chips on the beach and relaxed for a bit. It was very busy, but nothing compared with Manly beach on Tuesday. We had been told about a coastal walk to Coogee beach further south along the coast which passes 6beaches on route. We were feeling ambitious so we set off! It was a lovely walk, rather challenging in places with lots of hills and steps and mixed with the heat but we had some brilliant views along the way. We made it to Coogee beach in about 2hrs, feeling chuffed with ourselves!
Once we had recovered we caught the bus back to Circular Quay where the Harbour bridge and Opera house live. We wondered around and sat listening to some people playing music on the street. They used some cool looking instruments, and no they weren't didgeridoos! Its lovely to just sit and watch the world go by there! There was a huge cruise ship moored up in the harbour so we went and mooched, wondering how much it would cost to spend a week on board!
From there we said goodbye to the Harbour bridge and the Opera house and made our way back to the hostel via Hyde Park. We had never got round to seeing the south side of the park so we went for a mooch! We met Captain Cook and checked out our reflections in the reflecting pool.
Once back at the hostel we started the mammoth task of packing our bags! We seem to have accumulated so much stuff from nowhere and our bags seem to be very full! Can't believe its our last night in Sydney! Very sad to be leaving!
