It took us a while to get going this morning, it was weird being back in a hostel again and not having to pack the bed away or rearrange the camper so we could get going! We got sorted and went for a mooch around town. It was quite cloudy to start with but after a while it started to clear and get hot so we popped back to change and to hang our washing out to dry! My shorts don't seem to fit any more so we went for a mooch around the shops in search of some smal...

We had packed up and set off by 10am as we had about a 3hour drive ahead of us. We had breakfast overlooking the lake which was lovely, the colour of the water is such an amazing blue! The drive back seemed to take no time at all, perhaps because I was snoozing though! We made it to Christchurch by lunchtime and dropped our stuff off at the hostel before returning Newt! Very little to report today! As we were staying on the same site for 2 nights we decided that we deserved a lay in, especially as we struggle getting up early at the mo! We're both shattered as we've had a busy few weeks so decided to stay at this site by the lake for 2nights so that we could have today to chill and relax a bit. We spent much of the morning watching tv and on the internet as it was cold and windy outside! Gave us chance to catch up on the blog ...

We were up early and set off heading inland and north a bit towards the central lakes. We drove through many small rural towns along the way before stopping and lake Pukaki for some lunch. It was such a lovely day and we ended up spending a while there admiring the views and sunbaking! We could see Mount Cook which we had seen whilst driving down the west coast. From there we carried on to Lake Tekapo where we decided to stay for 2nights to have a few days relaxi...

We set off with the heaters on to thaw out...it didn't take long!! We went on a scenic drive around Dunedin spotting all the nice old looking buildings! We found the steepest street in the world, Baldwin street. We didn't attempt to walk or drive up it! We then started to make our way north.
