Christmas day!!

Needless to say, we weren't up early!! Feeling rough and hungover we stayed in bed till lunchtime! We were going to go to the beach but it was forecast rain so we stayed at the hostel as they were putting on an xmas party with dinner! We exchanged presents of Mint choc Tim Tams and caramel choc! We finally made ourselves presentable and made an appearance downstairs!
There were about 60-70 people and a few of the lads who work at the hostel cooked dinner for everyone! The courtyard was packed but spirits were high! Our table were all from home apart from one lad who was from France! In fact, most of our hostel are from home or Ireland! We sat around chatting and drinking until dinner was served! Unfortunately they managed to set the Yorkshire puds on fire in the oven and it was a mad rush to stop the alarms from going off to ensure that the fire brigade didn't arrive! Dinner was lovely though and we had wine, nibbles and crackers to go with it! There was even apple crumble and ice cream for dessert!! It was worth every penny/cent that we paid! Unfortunately it did rain a few times throughout dinner, more so towards the end so we felt very much at home! We ended up retreating to the tv room and watching Pearl Harbour! It was much more of a home style xmas instead of Aussie! We made the phone calls home, while standing in the rain, and then spent the evening watching more films, including 'Elf'! We were very cosy in the hostel as it was rather nippy and wet out! We can't believe that we came to Sydney for xmas and it rained!!! Typical!!
