Renee & Eamon were given activity books to complete by the Dales Campground Camp Hosts on arrival, and they duly completed about 90% of the activities in the 12 page book, and I signed the pages, etc as required in order for them to achieve 'Junior Ranger Status'. However, upon handing them in this morning, the 'rewards' had run out, so they were a little disappointed - it was a great idea and the kids learnt a lot from the activities, but the end result was a little flat.
Anyway, about 100kms down the road, we got to our next destination of Tom Price. It was pretty early, so we checked out the Visitor's Centre and confirmed our Rio Tinto tour for tomorrow morning, checked out the local shops, did a huge shop at Coles, as we've run the fridge and pantry down over the last week or so.
The Tourist Park is great, and we settled in nicely during the afternoon. Dad went back to town for a haircut and picked up a few bits and bobs, while Mum, Renee & Eamon checked out the pool. We have lots of washing collected up over the last 3 days bushcamping so it's nice to get that done, and it was so nice to have a shower and wash our hair!
We have also been out of mobile, internet and TV range, so it was nice to be able to get back on line. A great steak dinner on a beautiful balmy night.
