Day 13! We heard from Ty that brunch was a big thing in DC, so we went to City Tap House this morning. They do bottomless champagne cocktails which we took full advantage of! Plenty of mimosas and bloody Mary's were consumed... We ate lemon ricotta pancakes with maple syrup, strawberries and blueberries which were so good! Then we had a side of sweet potato fries sprinkled in sugar, which were also really tasty! We went to the Crime and Punishment museum in the afternoon which was really cool, it had the history of crime in America from the Middle Ages to present day. It was super interesting, but I think I've had a museum overload these last few days, I can't possibly absorb any more information. We sat in Mt Vernon square for a while watching a cute squirrel and then went to Chinatown for dinner. We stopped in one place first which turned out to be a Chinese tapas place where we would have to order 4 dishes each at $10 a dish, so we had to really awkwardly leave and find somewhere cheaper! Oops. We went to a place called Chinatown express instead, which was okay. I had sweet and sour pork which was about 90% batter 10% pork, but the sauce was tasty enough. We came back to the hostel and had a wild Saturday night drinking tea sat in the kitchen.. We would have sat in the room but there's a lady staying in there who sleeps 24/7 and speaks to herself, it's a bit odd! Anyway, that's it for today! L x
