Day 29! We arrived in Dallas at 6am after the worst bus journey yet. Megabus USA is just far too cold to get any sleep, even with taking sleeping pills! We found a donut place that was open early and got a really good donut for breakfast. Dallas is a very business orientated city with not much in the way of tourist attractions within walking distance anyway, so we struggled a wee bit to fill our morning there. We walked around the city centre, stopping for coffees and looking in the few shops that were open that early! We went to see the JFK memorial and saw (the outside of) a couple of museums, such as the big red museum in the photo. We then got our last megabus of the trip to Houston, which was great as I actually got to sleep! Catherine's cousin picked us up from the bus and drove us out to our hotel by the airport, which is where Julie and I parted ways with Catherine! She's staying in Houston for her cousins wedding while we head to the west coast. The hotel we are staying in is such a luxury for us! It's an actual hotel as opposed to a motel or hostel, and so has indoor rooms and nice fluffy towels. We are in our element! We are still exhausted from our busy week of travelling so we just showered and stayed in the hotel. We decided to order room service as we couldn't be bothered going out for dinner, which was unfortunately very disappointing... We ordered baked potatoes which were delivered with no cutlery and barely any toppings! Oh well, we are still enjoying our lazy night in, as we are up early to fly to San Diego!!! L x
